Third Party Reporting

North Island Crisis & Counselling Centre is now offering Third Party Reporting for North Island communities. This service is for individuals who were sexually assaulted but are not ready to report the assault to the police or engage in the court system. In British Columbia, Third Party Reporting (TPR) of sexual assault is a process which allows adult survivors (19 and over) to access support and to report details of a sexual assault to police anonymously, through a designated community service organization trained in taking these reports. Youth under the age of 19 may be eligible for TPR under certain circumstances. Third Party Reporting allows the opportunity for a survivor to give the police the information and report the crime without disclosing their name or identifying information by reporting it to the TPR worker at the North Island Crisis & Counselling Centre. It is not a substitute for a call to 911, nor is it in and of itself a police investigation. If you would like to know more about Third Party Reporting, or to make a third party report please call us at (250) 949-8333 or email thirdpartyreporting@nicccs.org
