Moose Hide Campaign Provincial Gathering: Ending Violence Against Women and Children

Men, in Victoria and across British Columbia, are invited to join in the Fast wherever they are.

The act of fasting is a sacred ritual that Aboriginal people and many other cultures and religions have practiced for thousands of years. The Moose Hide Campaign fast is a pledge to end violence against women and children. We invite men to fast (i.e. refrain from eating and drinking) from sun up until sun down. We also invite you to break your fast at sun down with a meal with your family, friends or co-workers to acknowledge your commitment to end violence against women and children and to share your fasting experience.

This is a day for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal men in communities, organizations and government across the province to unite in honour of all women and children.

The Moose Hide Campaign is determined to support change that will end the cycle of violence that women and children continue to experience.

“We will continue to ask men to take positive and concrete steps forward in standing up and speaking out against violence towards women and children. By taking part in this one day national fast you are showing your love and respect for the women in your life and supporting their right for peace and safety in their homes and communities.” Paul Lacerte, Founder –Moose Hide Campaign
