Child & Youth Counselling
Our Counsellor works with children and youth who are experiencing distress which is impairing their functioning at home, at school, with peers, or in the community.
The Counsellor is part of the North Island Child & Youth Mental Health Team, which provides a continuum of services throughout the North Island, ensuring effective and timely access to services throughout the Mount Waddington Regional District.
Referrals can be made to the North Island Child & Youth Mental Health Team by the child or youth themselves, as well as others who are directly involved, such as family members and other agencies or service providers. The child/youth or parent/guardian must have knowledge of the referral and agree prior to referral by an agency or service provider.
This program can be accessed directly by calling the North Island Crisis & Counselling Centre at 250-94-8333, or through any service provider you may already be working with.
The Child & Youth Mental Health Program is funded by
the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
